DLC Awards – 2026 Call for Nominations. We are now accepting nominations for the prestigious DLC Awards. This is your chance to recognize and celebrate excellence within our community. Consider nominating a deserving colleague or yourself – self-nominations are accepted and encouraged! All nominations are due May 15, 2026, 11:59 pm. NOTE: Awardees must be members of the DLC.
- NEW: The Award for Innovation in Developmental and Life Course Criminology recognizes individuals or teams who demonstrate outstanding innovation in theory, research, teaching, practice, and/or scholarship related to developmental and life-course criminology. Whether through pioneering methodologies, creative pedagogies, practical applications, or theoretical advancements, this award celebrates those who inspire progress and transformation in developmental and life course criminology. Nominators should send an email specifying the contributions of the nominee that have advanced the field through novel approaches and groundbreaking work.
- NEW: The Student Paper Award recognizes exceptional scholarly contributions by student members of the DLC Division. To be eligible for this award, the paper must be first authored by students. In cases where professors are co-authors, a letter of support is required, detailing the professors’ roles and contributions to the paper. We encourage submissions that have not been previously published; however, if the paper is currently under review, a letter documenting its status in the review process must be included. Submissions can be empirical, theoretical, or conceptual in nature, encompassing original research findings, theoretical framework developments, or new concepts and models that advance understanding to developmental and life-course criminology. Nominators should submit a copy of the work.
- The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes an individual who has a record of sustained and outstanding contributions to scholarship in developmental and life-course criminology. Nominators should send an email specifying the contributions of the nominee to developmental and life-course criminology plus a vita of the nominee. The recipient must also be available to present the “David P. Farrington Annual Lecture” at the 2025 annual ASC meeting and submit a manuscript of their lecture to the Editors for publication in the Journal of Life Course and Developmental Criminology.
- The Early Career Award recognizes an individual who received a Ph.D. or similar graduate degree no more than four years ago (no earlier than 2022) who has made a significant contribution to scholarly knowledge on developmental and life-course criminology in their early career. Nominators should send an email specifying the contributions of the nominee to developmental and life-course criminology plus a CV of the nominee.
- The Outstanding Contribution Award recognizes a DLC book, article, or book chapter published in the previous two years (publication years 2024 & 2025). Nominators should submit a copy of the work and a one-page summary of its significance.
- The Outstanding Student Contribution Award recognizes a DLC book, article, or book chapter published in the previous two years (publication years 2024 & 2025). The first author must have been an undergraduate or graduate student when the work was submitted for publication. Nominators should submit a copy of the work and a one-page summary of its significance.
